U.S  Snowboard legend Shaun White announce Retirement

Three-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White said Saturday that the Beijing Games will be his last Olympics

"I think this will be my, well this will be my last competition too, which is pretty special,"

Last year while battling a knee injury, White got lost during a competition and had to take a chairlift over the mountain alone.

"It was very sad and a surreal moment but really joyous as well," said White

"broke down" a little before calling his friends and family to tell them of his decision.

American White, 35, who won his first gold in 2006 in Turin, said he is "enjoying every moment" of his final Games.

He also holds the record for the most medals won (18) by an individual athlete at the Winter X Games.

The five-time Olympian, the world's most decorated snowboarder, also took gold in Vancouver and Pyeongchang.
