Neal Adams, comic book artist, has passed away.

DC Comics called Neal Adams one of the "most acclaimed artists to have contributed in the comic book industry."

Adams was a comic artist who worked in both Marvel and DC comics during the 1960s and 1970s. He drew characters such as Batman, Superman and the Avengers.

Josh Adams, his son, stated that his father died at 2 a.m. on Thursday morning.

His daughter, Zeea Adams Moss, her father's death was unexpected.

According to the statement, Adams was born June 5, 1941. He received his art training at The School of Industrial Arts in New York City.

Jim Lee, DC Publisher, chief creative officer, was impressed by Adams' Dark Knight illustrations.
