Mike McDaniel new head coach of  Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins gave McDaniel a four-year contract.

McDaniel is headed to Miami after one season as the 49ers' offensive coordinator.

The Dolphins have deal with Mike McDaniel to make him their next head coach, the team announced Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was the other finalist for the job.

McDaniel's hiring marks the end of a nearly month-long search since the Dolphins fired Brian Flores on Jan. 10.

McDaniel, 38, got his first head-coaching job at any level after spending 15 seasons in the NFL

He spent three seasons as an offensive assistant and a wide receivers coach for Washington
